Asteroid 1620, a member of the Apollo group, discovered by R. L. B. Minkowski and the American astronomer Albert George Wilson (1918–2012) in 1951 but not seen again until 1969. It is of S type. Radar observations show that Geographos is one of the most highly elongated objects in the Solar System, 5.0 × 2.0 km, probably a splinter from a larger body. Its orbit has a semimajor axis of 1.25 au, period 1.39 years, perihelion 0.83 au, aphelion 1.66 au, and inclination 13°.3.
