A Japanese Earth-observation microsatellite with a 5-m resolution that monitors cumulonimbus and sprites. It was launched on 24 May 2014, from the Yoshinobu Launch Complex, Japan, into a Sun-synchronous near-circular orbit at an altitude of 628 km.
