A texture, often found in certain types of mineral deposits, where crystals have grown in a radiating and concentric manner which may reflect underlying geochemical controls. Lead–zinc deposits of sedimentary origin often show colloform banding of pyrite and sphalerite (e.g. at Silvermines, Ireland).
