A young main-sequence star of late A or early F spectral type, located on the Hertzsprung–Russell diagram between solar-like and Delta Scuti stars; abbr. GDOR. Gamma Doradus stars have amplitudes up to 0.1 mag. in V and multiple periods ranging from 0.3 to 3 days due to non-radial surface pulsations.
