A small, nectar-feeding bird (family Zosteropidae) with a green back and a yellow or white underside, a slender, pointed, slightly curved bill, a tongue with a frilled tip, and in many species a white circle around each eye. They form large flocks. The taxonomy of white-eyes is uncertain but there are about 100 species found throughout the Old World tropics.
