An electrode configuration in which four electrodes are deployed in a line, with equal spacing between the two potential electrodes, and between each current electrode and its nearest potential electrode. Its geometric factor (Kg) is 2πa, where a is defined for each case. The Wenner array has five variations, three referred to as the tripotential method with α, β, and γ configurations, one as the Lee partitioning method (which has a fifth electrode at the array centre acting as a third potential electrode), and one as the Offset Wenner electrode array, which reduces the effects of lateral inhomogeneities. See electrode separation.
