The oceanic ridge which separates the Pacific Plate from the Antarctic, Nazca, and Cocos Plates. The East Pacific Rise is a fast-spreading ridge with a maximum half-spreading rate calculated at 4.4 cm/yr, and its topographic profile is relatively smooth compared with slow-spreading ridges, e.g. the Mid-Atlantic Ridge.
