A homodyne receiver, i.e. a radio receiver in which the local oscillator frequency is the same as the incoming signal carrier frequency, so that mixing results in conversion directly to baseband (see carrier wave). The reception process is thus also known as zero-IF (intermediate frequency). See also heterodyne reception.
