Trojan planet [`trō·jǝn `plan·ǝt] ASTRONOMY One of a group of asteroids whose periods of revolution are about equal to that of Jupiter, or about 12 years; these bodies move close to one or the other of two positions called Lagrangian points, 60° ahead of or 60° behind Jupiter; the asteroids near these positions are known as Greeks and Pure Trojans respectively. |
