A bioherm or fossil coral reef represented by a small, prominent, rounded hill, up to 330 feet (100 meters) high, consisting of resistant reef material, being either a local exhumation of an original reef feature or a feature produced by later erosion. 2. A present-day reef in the form of a knoll; a small reef patch developed locally and built upward rather than outward. |
