释义 | terrain contour matching [tǝ`rān `kan´tu̇r ´mach·iŋ] NAVIGATION A method of correcting errors in the inertial navigation system of a cruise missile, in which predicted terrain profile data stored in the missile's computer are compared with the terrain profile below the missile; calculated by subtracting the radar-altimeter-derived height of the missile above the terrain from the missile's altitude as derived from inertial navigator and barometric measurements. Abbreviated TERCOM. |
