An experiment in which a front-faced mirror is covered with a thick photographic emulsion which is then exposed to light incident perpendicular to the surface; upon development, it is found that standing waves are set up in the emulsion whose nodes coincide with those of the electric vector, rather than those of the magnetic vector.
