释义 | rod gap [`räd ´gap] ELECTRICITY 1. A device that is usually formed of two 1/2- square-inch (3-square-centimeter) rods, one grounded and the other connected to the line conductor, but may also have the shape of rings or horns, used to limit the magnitude of transient overvoltages on an electrical system as a result of lightning strikes. 2. Spark gap in which the electrodes are two coaxial rods, with ends between which the discharge takes place, cut perpendicularly to the axis. |
