释义 | self-induced transparency [¦self in¦düst tranz`par·ǝn·sē] OPTICS A phenomenon in which a pulse of coherent light, with a certain frequency, amplitude, and duration, is transmitted by a normally opaque medium; energy absorbed from the first half of the pulse, whose frequency is at or near the average resonance peak of a band of coherent atomic two-quantum-level optical oscillators, is returned to the last half of the pulse by the medium in the form of coherently emitted light.
