Ta₂O₅ Prisms insoluble in water and acids (except for hydrofluoric); melts at 1800°C; used to make tantalum, in optical glass and electronic equipment, and as a chemical intermediate. Also known as tantalic acid anhydride; tantalum pentoxide.
