1. A mudflow-like outburst of water-saturated snow along a stream course, commonly occurring in the Arctic Zone after intense thawing has produced more meltwater than can drain through the snow, and having a width generally several times greater than that of the stream channel.

2. A flow of clear slush on a glacier, as in Greenland.
