Darcy-Weisbach equation [¦där·sē `vīs´bäk i´kwā·zhǝn] FLUID MECHANICS An equation for the loss of head due to friction hf during turbulent flow of a fluid through a duct of any shape; in the case of a circular pipe, hf =f (L/d )(V2/2g ), where L and d are the length and diameter of the pipe, V is the fluid velocity, g the acceleration of gravity, and f a dimensionless number called Darcy number 1. |
