cyclone wave [`sī´klōn ´wāv] METEOROLOGY 1. A disturbance in the lower troposphere, of wavelength 1000-2500 kilometers; cyclone waves are recognized on synoptic charts as migratory high- and low-pressure systems. 2. A frontal wave at the crest of which there is a center of cyclonic circulation, that is, the frontal wave of a wave cyclone. |
