An odorless compound in the form of white, shining, crystalline leaflets or a white, crystalline powder with a melting point of 114-116°C; soluble in hot water, alcohol, ether, chloroform, acetone, glycerol, and benzene; used as a rubber accelerator, in the manufacture of dyestuffs and intermediates, as a precursor in penicillin manufacture, and as a painkiller.
