A directional surveying instrument which records photographically the direction and magnitude of well deviations from the vertical; powered by batteries, it contains a box level gage (indicating vertical deviation), a gyroscopic compass (indicating azimuth direction) and a watch and a dial thermometer, so that a simultaneous record of amount and direction of deviation, temperature, and time can be made on 16-millimeter film.
