在一定的宏观条件（温度、压力等）下，若多个系统某个特定的集体激发变得不稳定，该集体激发的现象。在钛酸钡（BaTiO3）一类的位移型铁电体中，某一特定的晶格振动模（通常是频率最低的横光学模）在温度趋于相变点时，其固有频率逐渐减小到零，晶体原子处于新的平衡位置，形成新的结构。
