Kashgar疏勒
中国古代西域城郭王国，唐安西四镇之一。又称沙勒（可能源于古代伊朗语Šaraka-）、粟特*Suγlaq/*Suγdaq或Suluk（突厥语言为“有水”）、佉沙〔似为伊朗语*Kǎša-（英雄）的音译〕。全称为伽师祗离或迦师佶黎，应源于伊朗语*Kasigiri（英雄城）。（此即回鹘到来后所用Kāšγār一名的语源，元、明、清三朝分别用汉文写作可失哈耳、哈实哈儿、喀什噶尔等，今称喀什，维吾尔语作Qašgar。）《大唐西域记》记有梵文化的名称室利讫栗多底，为Śiri-kirtāti的音写，意为“善行之地”。
