地理位置在北纬20°45ˊ～23°15ˊ，东经112°00ˊ～116°00ˊ的一个中国南海区渔场。东与粤东渔场和东沙渔场相邻，西南与粤西及海南岛东北部渔场相接。面积约7.43万平方千米。周边岛屿和港湾众多，每年由珠江带入大量的有机物质和无机盐类等营养物质，使众多浮游生物繁殖生长，构成多种地方性经济鱼虾类产卵及其幼体的育肥场所。
