将研究人群（病人或正常人）随机分为实验组和对照组，研究者对实验组人群施加或除去某种干预措施后，随访观察一段时间并比较两组人群疾病或健康状态的改变，对比分析实验组与对照组之间结局的差别，以验证研究假设和考核干预措施效果的一种实验方法。又称实验流行病学、干预研究等。
