阐述细胞膜分子的结构模型。认为细胞膜中的脂质双分子层构成细胞膜的连贯主体，它既有晶体分子排列的有序性，又具有液体的流动性。膜蛋白以不同形式与脂质双分子层结合，有的镶嵌在脂质双分子层中，有的附着在脂质双分子层的表面。
