不溶于脂质的或很难溶于脂质的某些物质，如葡萄糖、氨基酸等分子和K+、Na+、Ca2+等离子，在一定情况下，借助于细胞膜结构中的某些特殊蛋白质的帮助顺浓度梯度或顺电化学梯度，不消耗腺苷三磷酸（ATP）进入膜内的一种运输方式。又称促进扩散、协助扩散、帮助扩散。
