为增强图像对目标信息描述的清晰、完整、准确性，将不同时相、不同波段或不同传感器系统获取的同一区域的图像按同名像点叠合或合并在一起的图像处理方法。早期指将利用不同方法获得的同一地区的栅格图件在空间位置上套合而进行叠加显示、处理和分析的技术。又称图像合并、图像融合。
