固态光源是指发光的光源是固体材料，先通常用于固态照明或半导体照明，广义上包括各种可以发光的固体材料，如电致发光薄膜、荧光体，半导体材料等；狭义上通常是指各种发光二极管或激光二极管，如无机半导体材料制备的发光二极管，有机材料制备的有机材料发光二极管、量子点发光二极管等。固态光源是与传统的光源相对而言的，如传统的热电灯丝发光，等离子体（如荧光灯）放电发光，或其他气体光源发光灯。
