位于吉林省长岭县西北部，和乾安县、前郭尔罗斯蒙古族自治县的交界，属松嫩草原的低洼地带，海拔140～160米，地理坐标为：东经123°25′～123°42′，北纬44°30′～44°43′。横跨长岭县的三十号、北正镇2个乡的40个村，10个自然屯和2个种畜场。总面积2.38万公顷，其中，草原面积1.55万公顷，占65.1%；水域面积0.63万公顷，占26.4%；沙丘0.20万公顷，占8.4%。
