由北京基本粒子理论组提出的，基于强子（参与强相互作用的粒子总称）内部结构的认识，认为强子由下一层次的层子组成，并以夸克（当时有三种：上夸克u、下夸克d、奇异夸克s）为对象引入相对论性束缚态波函数的理论，用于描述强子参与的各种过程的模型。
