语义学家研究语义的组织结构时使用的术语。有些文献把它看作以J.卡茨为代表的分解语义学（Decompositional Semantics）的专用术语。宏观层次上的“语义关系”指语符（串）之间在内容上的所有联系（包括语素和语素、词和词、短语和短语、小句和小句在组合和聚合/替换时彼此之间的语义联系）；中观层次的语义关系专指语义聚合关系，不包括语符（串）在组合时涉及的动作与施事、受事等语义角色之间的语义联系；微观层次的“语义关系”仅指词语之间在聚合轴上的语义联系，故又简称为“词汇关系”（lexical relation）。
