同一种文字的各种不同形体。有两种含义，第一种含义是指根据不同时期、不同书写工具和书写介质所体现的字形结构特点和总体风格总结划分出来的文字形体类别，第二种含义是指根据字形特点和风格划分出来的用于印刷、电子显示或手写的文字形体类别。在汉语中，字体常特指汉字的形体类别。第一种含义的汉字字体主要包括甲骨文、金文、小篆、隶书、楷书等，第二种含义的汉字字体主要包括宋体、仿宋体、楷体、黑体等。
