一种形式语法理论，认为语言能力是人们处理语言时运用语言知识的能力，即从语音单位中提取语义信息的能力，并强调结构、语义及语用之间的互动关系在自然语言表达和理解中的重要作用，把三者融合在一个能够对语句进行完整解析的形式语法框架中，从而将语言的结构形式与语义功能的解释统一起来。开创了语言学研究的新视野。简称DS。
